We are here to protect your information

At Ascent Credit Union, we value your identity, your personal information, and your security. Read below to find out more about what we do, and what you can do to protect your identity.

  • Online Banking Security Information

Ascent Credit Union is connected to the Internet in a way that keeps all the credit union’s internal systems and member information away from outside influences. We currently use every precaution available to protect your accounts and information. Information sent or received through the Web site is encrypted, making it unreadable during transmission. We also have a firewall protecting the credit union’s host computer. In addition to the systematic precautions that we have taken to ensure information security, your Ascent Credit Union password ensures that you are the only authorized user with access to your account information. Be sure to change your password regularly to ensure its integrity. Keep your password in a secured place and don’t reveal it to anyone. No one at Ascent Credit Union will ever ask for your password.

  • Secure Access Codes

The new release of e-Branch introduces a powerful new security measure, Secure Access Codes. This new process takes the place of challenge questions and personal security images. Secure Access Codes are six digit numbers that are delivered to you using channels other than online banking. You can request them to be sent to you via e-mail, phone call by an automated attendant or SMS Text (if WSCU does not have your current mobile number, you cannot receive this code by text). The code must be used within 15 minutes of receiving it, after which it will not work. Each time you access e-Branch via a new computer or mobile device, you will need to go through the Secure Access Code process. Please consult the Quick Start Guide for detailed instructions on using the Secure Access Code during the enrollment process.

  • Internet Browser Recommendations

It is recommended that members use the latest version of their Internet browser to stay updated with the security features provided by each browser. To download the newest version of a browser, please click the link for the browser you prefer to use:
