    Ascent Credit Union is looking for a part-time teller to identify member needs and recommend credit union product and service solutions that will improve our members’ financial well-being while helping with basic financial transactions.

    Responsibilities

    How You’ll Contribute:

    • Build trust with our members by delivering service in alignment with our Service Promises
    • Speak with members and identify opportunities to better their finances
    • Accurately process financial transactions
    • Take deposits, make loan payments, and process withdrawals
    • Act as an effective source of information for our members in lobby, drive-thru window, or by telephone
    • Provide friendly, professional, confidential and effective assistance to members and credit union staff

    • Gather financial data from the member.  Pull, review, and analyze credit.  Communicate with members who apply online, via the phone, in-person, and referrals. Maintain constant communication with members via email, phone, text, and in-person during the application process from application to closing.
    • Maintains contact and good working relationships with credit union staff to provide lending knowledge and follow up on referrals.

    Qualifications

    Ascent Credit Union is looking for a full-time home equity & consumer loan originator to accept home equity loan applications from members and screen application packages to determine acceptability of the credit request using lending guidelines.

    The position reports to the mortgage team and the emphasis of this position is originating home equity loans. It also supports the entire credit union lending team by providing knowledge assistance to our call center and originating vehicle, RV, personal, and credit card applications when needed. This position does a little bit of everything related to home equity and consumer lending.

    Responsibilities

    How You'll Contribute

    • Evaluate loans to ensure they meet guidelines. Serve as point of contact for member throughout the entire home equity loan process including processing, underwriting, and loan closing.
    Qualifications

    As the Mortgage Manager at Ascent Credit Union, you will be instrumental in providing our members with conventional, FHA, VA, Home Equity, and a line of portfolio mortgage loans. We are seeking a unique individual who will lead, cultivate, and maintain our mortgage loan production from origination to funding. As the Mortgage Manager, you will create an outstanding environment-a place where people enjoy coming to work and making a positive impact in the community. You will lead by example as the mortgage team helps fulfill the credit union’s mission of inspiring a brighter financial future.

    Responsibilities

    How You'll Contribute

    • Coach, train, supervise, and motivate a smaller group of employees with a wide variety of responsibilities. Areas include mortgage loan production, processing, funding, post-closing, quality control and servicing.
    • Underwrite the credit union’s portfolio loans including home equity loans and first mortgages. Maintain our non-delegated relationships with correspondent lenders.
    • Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly while reaching sales goals and operational service levels.
    • Follow established policies and procedures and recommend changes when necessary.
    • Assist in the origination, processing, funding, post-closing activities, and servicing functions of loans while providing excellent service to our members.
    • Work with our Chief Lending Officer to influence the strategic direction of our mortgage area and lead in technology and compliance initiatives.
    • Assist lending administration with monthly and yearly reporting requirements for the credit union including pipeline reports, HMDA, and profitability.
    • Assist with department projects including writing procedure, updating rate sheets, creating user profiles for mortgage software platforms, and configuring software platform settings.
    • Maintain employee user profiles in the many vendor software platforms that are used.
    • Tracking all real estate loan invoices and ensure they are submitted to accounts payable for payment.
    • Oversee and assist with the scanning, retention, organization, and quality control of loan files.
    Qualifications

    What You'll Bring:

    • Leadership experience with coaching and leading a team.
    • At least 5-7 years of related experience, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience. Must have experience in all three areas of mortgage loan origination, loan underwriting, and mortgage loan processing.
    • Bachelors degree in business, finance or related field or commensurate experience.
    • Proficiency in fully utilizing desktop and mobile devices for communication and work duties.
    • Sharp communication skills in listening for, recognizing, and acting on opportunities to assist team members.
    • Extremely well organized, accurate, detail oriented, professional and reliable.
    • Ability to make appropriate decisions on your own while bringing recommendations for difficult or complex issues.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where questions and issues come from a wide variety of areas.
    • Willingness to work from 9.00pm to 6.00pm, from Monday through Friday.
    • Willingness and passion for learning and maintaining a high level of proficiency by participating in individual and credit union training.
    • Ability to learn independently supported by mentoring and one-on-one training and ability to provide training to others.
