Open Positions

  • Full Time Traveling Teller (Ogden)

    Overview As the primary service point for members visiting the branch, the primary purpose of the teller is to assist Ascent Credit Union to live out our Service Mission, “Working together as a team to be the most trusted resource for our members and communities to build a brighter financial future.” This is accomplished by providing outstanding service to both members and team members that is in alignment with Ascent Credit Union’s Service Promises and Service Standards. A key element of this service is to identify member needs and recommend credit union product and service solutions that will improve our members’ financial well-being.

    In addition, responsible for accurately processing financial transactions and being an effective source of information for our members: in lobby, drive-thru window or by telephone. Provides friendly, professional, confidential and effective assistance to members and credit union staff assuring a positive experience and providing value to the member.

    There is one full time position based at our Ogden branch. The employee will travel to and work from our branches as needed. The Traveling Teller may be assigned to other branches for a day or several weeks. The expected schedule is 9:00am to 6:00pm, from Monday through Friday.

    How You’ll Contribute

    • Build trust with our members by delivering service in alignment with our Service Promises
    • Provide friendly, professional, confidential, and effective assistance to members and credit union staff
    • Speak with members and identify opportunities to better their finances
    • Efficiently processes financial transactions for checking, savings, and borrowing members
    • Take deposits, make loan payments, and process withdrawals
    • Research, troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries
    • Take on special projects and new responsibilities as directed by the branch manager

  • Morning Part Time Teller (Ogden)

  • Full Time Loan Originator (Ogden)

    The primary purpose of the Loan Originator is to assist Ascent Credit Union to live out our Service Mission to “inspire upward financial success.” This is accomplished by providing outstanding service to both members and team members that is in alignment with Ascent Credit Union’s Service Promises and Service Standards. A key element of this service is to identify member needs and recommend credit union product and service solutions that will improve our members’’ financial well-being.

    In addition, the Loan Originator underwrites consumer loan applications received by the credit union. This position screens consumer application packages to determine acceptability of the credit request using lending guidelines.

    This position is full-time, 9:00am to 6:00pm, from Monday through Friday.

    How You’ll Contribute:

    • Build trust with our members by delivering service in alignment with our Service Promises
    • Meets with members as they review financing options
    • Screen consumer application packages for suitability
    • Underwrites consumer loan applications
    • Research, troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries
    • As needed, take deposits, make loan payments, and process withdrawals

     

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Enthusiasm for helping members’ financial futures
    • Sharp communication skills in listening for, recognizing, and acting on opportunities to assist members in their financial well-being
    • Strong teamwork abilities such as involving supervisors in your work, sharing what you are working on, what progress has been made, and what hurdles you are facing
    • Effective effort and resource management
    • Demonstrated competency in desktop and mobile devices for communication and work duties
    • At least 2 years of banking experience
    • Willingness to work from 9:00am to 6:00pm, from Monday through Friday

     

    The following greatly increase your potential for hire:

    • 2+ years of lending experience (auto, RV, personal, & credit card)
    • Experience referring GAP, credit life, & credit disability products
    • Home equity loan experience
