We’re excited to share some big news with our members: the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has officially approved our merger with Goldenwest. This milestone moves us one step closer to bringing our two credit unions together and building an even stronger financial cooperative for our members.
This approval represents months of planning and collaboration, all with one goal in mind—creating more opportunities, stronger resources, and an even better banking experience for you. This allows us to build a brighter future while honoring our past and returning to the name Weber State Credit Union.
While this is a major step forward, there are still a few phases ahead before the merger is fully complete. Here’s a look at what’s coming next.
Member Vote
You should have received a packet in the mail with information on the Special Member Meeting, as well as the ballot to vote. An email was also sent with the same information for voting online. If you have not received either of these, please visit any branch so we may assist you. The Special Member Meeting will be held May 14 at the WSU Hurst Center at 7pm. We will announce the results of the vote at this meeting.

Preparing Behind the Scenes
Our teams have already been focusing on aligning systems, services, and operations to ensure a smooth transition. Most of this work happens behind the scenes, and members can continue banking as usual.
Member Updates & Details
As we approach key milestones, we’ll share clear updates about timelines and any changes to services, cards, or digital banking. Our goal is to make the transition simple, transparent, and seamless. We will be sending out a Merger Guide at the beginning of October with all information necessary for a smooth transition. Watch for those in the mail. A digital version will also be available on our website, as well as printed copies in the branches.
System Conversion & Launch – November 1, 2026
The final step will be the system integration and official completion of the merger. Once finished, members will benefit from the combined strength, expanded services and branch network, and enhanced technology of the unified credit union.
What This Means for You
This merger positions us to better serve our members, giving you access to:
A larger suite of financial products and services
A 50+ branch network throughout Utah and Idaho
A revitalized commitment to serving our local communities at an even higher capacity, especially Weber State University
Most importantly, our commitment to member-first service remains exactly the same. As a credit union, everything we do is designed to benefit the people who matter most—our members.
