Members are invited to attend the 62nd Annual Meeting on April 25, 2019. Doors will open at 6:15pm at the WSU Hurst Center (directly east of the WSCU Main Office) with the meeting beginning at 6:45pm.
In conjunction with the meeting, two candidates will be elected to serve on the Weber State Credit Union Board of Directors. The Nomination Committee has determined the following candidates meet the requirements to serve on the WSCU Board of Directors. Each position carries a three-year term.


Sebastian Benitez
Sebastian, an immigrant from Paraguay, settled in Ogden in 2001 after having lived in 9 countries for military affairs. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1989 and then worked as an electrician specializing in solar energy. Sebastian has been an active business owner for more than 24 years in Paraguay and in Utah. He speaks 5 different languages and has been involved in the Weber County community by serving as a board member for Family Promise of Ogden, which helps families who are experiencing homelessness. Sebastian has been a member since 2003.

 

 


John Bizzell
Originally from Indiana, John moved to Ogden in 1988 where he served with the theatre area as the Technical Director until 2014 when he retired. For approximately twenty years, John was an officer in IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) as either President or Vice-President. He also served on their executive board for this period. John remains active with IATSE local 99 (the Technical Theater Union) and is on the Board of JATC, the theater apprenticeship program affiliated with the Department of Labor. John has been a member since 1988.

 

 


Roger Smout (Incumbent)
Roger has held several successful positions in private industry including IBS, Inc. for 20 years. He was awarded the 2001 Salesperson of the Year, and in 2002 was awarded the IBS Million Dollar Salesperson award. He is a corporate trainer and ranks among the top salespeople. Roger graduated from Weber State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Sales. He is currently serving as the Chair of the WSCU Supervisory Committee. Roger has been a member since 1980.

 

 

All members are invited to attend the meeting and have an opportunity to vote for Board candidates. Only members who are primary account holders and at least 18 years of age may cast ballots. Only one vote per member.
