Collector I

Ascent Credit Union is looking for a Collector to recognize loan delinquency early on and helping members get back on track. Through phone calls, in person interviews, and sometimes collection letters, the Collector collaborates with members to find the best forward solution. When necessary, this person recommends further action on accounts such as repossession, legal action, foreclosure, and referral to collection agency.

How You Will Contribute
  • Interview members to determine reasons for delinquency, analyze the financial situation of delinquent borrowers, and take appropriate action to resolve the account, including loan modifications or loan workouts.
  • Counsel members concerning their financial obligations, advise of options and asks for payment agreements.
  • Ensure member files are kept updated and complete, and all required documents are filed.
  • Research and analyze data on past due loan accounts, non-sufficient return items and negative share balances, and claims of fraudulent account activity.
  • Use judgment and discretion within the framework of regulation, policies, and member service.
